How We-Vibe's Temp Temperature Play Vibrator Won Me Over
Warming up to the warming and cooling We-Vibe Temp was a wild ride.

"Why, though?" I thought the first time I saw it at a trade show — but in a matter of minutes, actually using it, my mental filing swapped the We-Vibe Temp from "goofy gimmick" to "glorious gizmo."
See, I love temperature play paired with slow sensations: an ice cube caressing my skin, cold fingers inside, and warm sighs for contrast.
I didn't see the sense in combining it with vibration in one toy — until now.
What Is the We-Vibe Temp?
We-Vibe's Temp combines their signature silky silicone and rumbly vibrations with a metal plate and second motor for active warmth and chilling. From "feverish" to "ferrous and fresh off the nightstand," it switches between 68°F and 100°F (20°C and 38°C) in seconds.

No, literally. The We-Vibe Temp temperature play settings are "metal that's been left out" and "a bit beyond body heat." And it holds that temperature throughout your thrumming session — no need to re-dip a dildo in cold water!
This massager was made for a full-body tease before the please, implied by how it fits in one's palm. Cup the curve like a computer mouse while sliding the level surface all over — perhaps the cold on the collarbone, or ribs, before the dips near the hips.
You get the idea: Temp tantalizes.
But how does it do beyond that?
Interlude: an Anatomy Lesson
I need to give some (highly cliterate!) context about what I like, in order to answer these questions:
- "Is the We-Vibe Temp worth it?"
- "Who is the We-Vibe Temp for?"
Generally, on my clitoral glans — the external portion — I like pinpoint stimulation.
But the clitoris is so much more than the princess's pea; it's also the parts you can't see, wrapping along the left and right sides of the vulva.
I like using my fingertips and nails where the inner "lips" meet — but I also like rubbing with broader strokes all along the labia majora, where the internal clitoris swells up.
That's the key in considering how I went from, "Why does its shape have to be so fucking bland?" to "Ohh, fuck, I've used it every day since I unboxed it, and I love it enough to bang out a review draft in one sitting."

The We-Vibe Temp is most certainly not for every body. But it is for me, someone who:
- Gets off on massaging her labia majora
- LOVE LOVE LOVES novel sensations
- Could use a little pelvic floor-relaxing TLC on her gorilla grip coochie. (The warming in particular can help here, though every body is different!)
- Might prefer but doesn't need focused vibration to climax
- Appreciates deep, rumbly motors — but doesn't necessarily go for raw intensity
Temp's low-pitched purr is decidedly rumbly, but some users might find its pebble shape too diffuse. I thought that might be the case for me, until I actually got my hands on it — not at a trade show, but in the privacy of my own home.
Don't get Temp if you're barging straight for the clit; get it to savor slow seduction and a soul-stroking summit.

We-Vibe's Temp vibrator dimensions nestle in the curve of my palm and fingers, and they're just right for hugging my vulva.

Fun fact: I misplaced my We-Vibe Temp for a bit because it's shaped like a computer mouse — so my eyes glossed over it next to my actual mouse when searching my desktop.
Control Panel & Vibration Settings
- 3 steady speeds and five patterns
- 60, 85, 100 Hz vibration pitch with some fluttering
- Generally deep and rumbly with moderate intensity
- Technically, there are 3 speeds initially and 7 other options to click through, but two of them feel very consistent and could be considered steady vibration.
- 3 buttons — cycle vibrations, cooling on/off, heating on/off
- Long-press the vibrations button to turn the whole unit on/off
- Generally quiet — use under a blanket on the low setting and behind a closed door if you turn it up
Note that only one button controls vibrations; the other two are dedicated to temperature settings.

If you want more comprehensive controls in a rumbly, pebble-shaped, lay-on-style silicone vibrator— and don't care for temperature play function — consider the Je Joue Mimi or Mimi Soft instead.
I'll have more recommendations later in this post.
But We-Vibe wowed me with their temperature play vibrator, and it does make a difference for me.
Here's how the We-Vibe Temp went from goofy to glorious in my mind.
My Experience With the We-Vibe Temp
I didn't ask to review Temp — but We-Vibe was right to be confident in sending me one anyway.
Foreplay
Of course, the metal plate feels cool against my skin at first. And when I turn on the temperature control, it gets even colder in seconds, and it stays that way against my thighs, my collarbone (and my neck, my back…) It's not as chilly as an ice cube — and not quite as showy, but enough for me to shiver and squirm.
Slide it on a lover's skin to tease, or touch and tap the plate for the surprise. Bonuses: Combine it with cooling lube or — dare I say? — damiana and MJ to savor, loop, and fixate on repetitive sensations and every little detail. If you know, you know.

The We-Vibe Temp's flat face was made for full-body massage. But when I want more direct focus, it's metallic magic on my vulva.
The plate rests on my clitoral glans. It's warm enough to feel like I'm throbbing, and subtle enough to feel like the heat is coming from within.
Clit Focus
There's one main defined edge. When I cup this clit vibe like a computer mouse to click the buttons with my thumb, the narrower part of the oval near my fingertips can be angled against my clitoral glans, my labia, my perineum — whichever part needs extra attention.

(Note: the edge's placement implies that Temp was made for right-handed use. Left-handed users can still use their fingers to tap the buttons, but it might not feel as intuitive.)
Vulva-Va-Voom
Okay, okay, we're finally getting to my absolute favorite way to use the We-Vibe Temp — it teases me, but it also pleases me in a unique way no other vibrator has.
This is where the warming unit kicks in for me.
The plate rests on my clitoral glans. It's warm enough to feel like I'm throbbing, and subtle enough to feel like the heat is coming from within.
(If you like the sound of that, you'll probably love the Womanizer Next, too.)
From there, even the slightest pressure and the thrum of the lowest setting feel like a lot. Pushing with my hand feels divine. Sitting on it is almost devilishly delightful, especially when I sway my hips side to side, shifting my weight to crush my clitoral crura and labia on the lateral (left and right) curves.
And this is on the first setting; the synergy with warmth really takes it from "that's nice” to “oh my gosh. It's already almost too much. I both do and do not want more.”
Just kidding; I always want more.

And I can turn up the vibrations and angle the contours all over my lips. Swaying, rocking, circling, sometimes pressing the narrow part into my perineum to soothe the gorilla grip, sometimes nudging near the entrance.
It is a lot. It is literally hot.
And yeah, just the vibrations on their own might be subtle to moderate, but the tremble and temperature combo is the cause of crying.
I've used the We-Vibe Temp over and over again because it really is that good and glorious, without gimmick.
Is the We-Vibe Temp Worth It?
It's easy to say, “Um, YES?” for myself — but for others, only under certain conditions.

First and foremost, do you enjoy temperature play? Do you love the sensation of cold surfaces on your skin? Does the warmth of a partner's mouth do it for you?
Easy Ways to Try Temperature Play
If you're unsure and want just a little taste without breaking the bank:
- Dip a metal or glass dildo in cold water to sample the sensation. It'll warm up to your body temperature, but you can re-immerse and re-chill it.
- Same as above, but with warmer water! Or even two bowls for temperature contrast.
- Try a low-temperature soy wax candle all over someone's body during foreplay.
- Try a reusable ice pack, perhaps wrapped in a towel to buffer the cold a little, and a dental dam to keep it hygienic.
- Use a heating pad over a dental dam.
Of course, the first two can be clunky, and the last two are temporary trials to see if the sensation does anything for you.
Temp puts it all into one sleek silicone package and takes play from “cool and cozy” to “convenient” to "clit-cuddling cum kingdom."
I didn't ask to review Temp—but We-Vibe was right to be confident in sending me one anyway.
What to Expect With We-Vibe
Yes, I generally think We-Vibe is a high-quality sex toy brand.
Yes, I think their external vibrators are generally generously rumbly. There's a reason their Tango X, Touch X, and Wand 2 are all top-tier in my book.
The We-Vibe Temp fills in a gap: a compact carry vibrator with breadth for body massage and for rubbing all over the vulva. (Yes, you can use it on a penis, but its shape and size are uniquely suited for labial massage.)
My lips want more.

And the battery can deliver; I've used it several times daily all weekend, and only charged it once. Is that a testament to the battery life, or to how much the motor does for me with so little effort? Why not both?
Temp boasts a buxom motor for the size, but you won't get the Touch X's variety of sensation scopes — cupping the clitoral glans! pointed pressure! edges! broad bulges! all in one! — nor the Tango X's stripped-down hard plastic shell for maximum vibration transfer.
Where Temp excels is turning the throbbing and shuddering into a whole-body experience. Don't get Temp if you're barging straight for the clit; get it to savor slow seduction and a soul-stroking summit.

- SheVibe (often 15% off sitewide during weekends)
