Tracy's Dog Surreal Review: Bluetooth Lipstick Vibrator

It's no mys­tery why petite lipstick-​style vibra­tors are popular.

• And their bang-​to-​buck ratio ratios
• They tend to be discreet
• Their unas­sum­ing appear­ances evade social media censorship

All that adds up when mar­ket­ing to a younger audi­ence in a reces­sion. Such shop­pers might:

• Have lim­it­ed budgets
• Live with oth­ers who will snoop
• Want to use their toys in the shower

And a com­pact bul­let like the Surreal is per­fect for that.

Surreal Bullet Shape, Size, Features

At a split-​second glance, the Surreal Lipstick vibra­tor by Tracy's Dog might blend in well with one's make­up bag or pen­cil case. Look any longer, though, and you might won­der about the odd design choice to make it sub­stan­tial­ly chub­bier than most of my lip prod­uct tubes.

The Surreal Bluetooth Lipstick vibrator:

• Measures 0.95” diam­e­ter across
• Is about 3.75” long, with the cap tak­en off
• Feels flex­i­ble and silky with its mat­te sil­i­cone finish
• Has one but­ton to con­trol 10 set­tings, plus a remote app 
  • The three steady speeds range from 65 to 85 Hz — in oth­er words, decent­ly rumbly
• Has an angled tip, just like lip­stick, of course!

The down­side to its size is that it's con­spic­u­ous to the curi­ous. The plus side is that it can be used both inter­nal­ly and externally:

• Tip drill with up to 2.5” and vibra­tions on or off
• Focus the mas­sage with the lip­stick tip
• Diffuse it a lit­tle with the flat face or cylin­dri­cal body

Who Is the Surreal for or Not For?

In addi­tion to the clas­sic lip­stick shape's ver­sa­til­i­ty, the Surreal bul­let is also good for begin­ners in the sense that it:

• Has a mod­er­ate­ly strong motor that will please many people
• Has enough set­tings for the price — at under $40, it's hard to com­plain about 3 steady speeds and 7 pat­terns. (Out of the wave set­tings, 3 are con­sis­tent enough for me to find useful.)
• Is afford­able — if it turns out that you don't like mid-​grade rumbly vibra­tions or straight and shal­low pen­e­tra­tion, you can learn that pref­er­ence with­out dent­ing your wal­let much and try some­thing else

What's not to love about the Surreal lip­stick bul­let by Tracy's Dog?

• The app leaves some­thing to be desired. Many of the func­tions didn't work with my smart­phone. One that does is the motion sen­sor, which would be more use­ful with your phone in your pock­et and a hands-​free wear­able vibra­tor — let it shift as you walk or dance.
• It's dis­creet but not quite as much as some­one liv­ing with their par­ents might like. (Really? A label declar­ing “mas­sager” as the con­tent? Just call it a rub­ber sculp­ture or per­son­al care product.)
• Lastly, I don't love the brand name, but it doesn't both­er me that much.

I don't have much to com­plain about for the price and vibra­tion quality.

Closing Thoughts on This Lipstick Vibe

The Tracy's Dog Surreal lip­stick vibra­tor is a sassy pow­er­house that bal­ances stealth and strength. With its mod­er­ate­ly rumbly vibes, ver­sa­tile design, and app con­trol (even if it's a bit finicky), it's ready to rat­tle your clit from inside or outside.
