October 2018 faves: sex toys, Habitica, journaling, and personal updates
Welcome to November 2018! This past month, I’ve officially settled into my new apartment, been decorating sex toy cookies with my partner, and my toys are feeling at home on their designated closet shelves.
Surprisingly (to some people), my collection hasn’t outgrown its shelves yet!
I’m also elated to accept mail at this apartment, finally— I had been on the road and in hotels and an Airbnb for so long. The Airbnb was in a recently-constructed building, so mail carriers sometimes struggle to find it. Shout-out to the UPS investigation people for recovering my lost Rimming Plug 2 parcel from Spectrum Boutique and B-Vibe.
Oh yes— I’m reviewing a plug with rotating beads that feel like they’re licking my butthole. Expect that review very soon. But first, let’s look back on my October.
Sex toys & products I’ve been using religiously
Uberrime Night King long fantasy dildo
I always love a gently curved dildo, but the Uberrime Night King goes above and beyond. On rare occasions, if I’m especially stressed, just thrusting my boyfriend’s penis or a smooth dildo behind my cervix feels good but isn’t enough.
Those nights, Night King’s ridges feel glorious against my G-spot. Its textures, combined with deep penetration, take me over the edge within 30 seconds. Blue petals averted.
BS Atelier Max Poly Pride striped dildo
On the opposite end of the texture spectrum, the BS Atelier Max is glossy, and its texture is limited to the coronal ridge. It’s also slimmer and more flexible but has a similar curve to the Night King.
If I only want steady pressure against my cervix as I come and clench, the bendiness and gloss of the BS Atelier Max give me something more targeted but gentle than my beloved VixSkin. BS Atelier Max review coming soon.
Hot Octopuss Atom cock ring
Yeah, the Hot Octopuss Atom sucked as a cock ring, but it’s been one of my favorites to use as a solo clitoral vibrator now. Its rumble is consistent throughout the settings (in contrast to the Je Joue Uma, which gets way buzzier at the top speeds), and it has a 3-button control panel.
Hathor/SUTIL Body Glide flavored lube in mint or coconut
I don’t ever want to buy another lube. Hathor/SUTIL Body Glide is it. It lasts long AF, washes off easily, and its water-based formula is compatible with condoms and silicone sex toys. With just a few drops, it out-performs my other water-based lubes. Oh, and the mint and coconut flavors are delicious. Just stay away from the cherry flavor.
Blogging productivity stuff
Habitica – gamify your life
Habitica, a game I heard of from Betty Butch, has me HOOKED! It’s a medieval roleplaying-themed game where you earn experience, find digital loot, battle bosses, and level up by ticking tasks off your real-life “to-do” lists and habit check-ins.
The game turns something as mundane as drinking more water or planking into something exciting and helps me track my progress. But also, it decreases procrastination by decreasing overwhelm allowing me to easily break down my day into tiny, more manageable chunks that add up over time.
I used to love Weekplan, but it was too laggy. Habitica is lightning-fast, and it allows me more detail and flexibility than a paper planner alone.
I’ve been converted to discbound notebooks, and I am never going back. You can fold the front cover around the back and lie it flat like a spiral-bound notebook, and add and rearrange pages like a binder, but way more quickly and with less bulk.
Russel & Hazel Smartdate washi tape
These washi tape rolls align with college-ruled paper, giving you the flexibility of a bullet journal with the structure and neatness of a planner.
My favorites are the washi with pre-printed times from 5 AM to midnight and the one with evenly-spaced outlines of circles for lists.
It’s neater and more visually satisfying to fill in the circle and see the chain of filled circles, than to crossing or “X”-ing it out. Use it vertically for lists or horizontally for tracking progress with something.
Other perks of October 2018
Cute AF fridge magnets of Asian food
I found these tiny food sculptures for sale in a Thai restaurant— and the owner bought them from Thailand. I had to buy some, in part as souvenirs, and partly because they were perfect for my Iroha Zen review photos.
Playing The Sims for the first time
I understand why (seemingly) everyone and their grandmother has played The Sims. It’s helpful for breaking up existential slumps, feeling like you have control over your (Sim’s) life, and speeding up to the exciting parts.
Wonder what the point of Sisyphean life is. Play a game. Have fun in the game. Wonder what the point of the game is. Log off. Have fun in real life. Repeat.
Internet submissives coming through for me
When I sent my toy collection to my new home and the glass toys mostly arrived broken, a Good Boi on the internet sent me replacements. He also bought me a new butt plug, plus the BS Atelier Max when I was feeling FOMO seeing other reviewers’ pictures of it. AND he offered to help me take down the sheisty business that copied my blog posts and graphics in their entirety, LOVETOYANDYOU.
Watching The Good Place & Maniac on Friday nights
The Good Place is such a good show, commonly known as the dumbest smart show on television. I want a T-shirt with the quote, “Congratulations, Chidi. You filibustered recess” on it. Just watch it. It’s so good.
Voting early in the 2018 midterm elections
I dropped off my absentee ballot in way ahead of time! It feels good to have gotten something so important out of the way.
What about you?
Tell me some great things that happened to you in the comments. And if you’re in the U.S. and registered to vote, what time are you planning on attending the polls? ARE YOU EXCITED TO VOTE???
